Bitcoin Rises Ahead of U.S. Jobs Data

Dow Jones10:24

0224 GMT - Bitcoin rises in Asia as investors await U.S. nonfarm payrolls data for September due later Friday. The data will be important in adjusting expectations for the Federal Reserve's future interest rate decisions, says Antonio Di Giacomo, a senior market analyst at XS.com, in a note. A strong job print increases the likelihood that the Fed will raise rates. Higher borrowing rates tend to weigh on risk appetite, hurting cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is 0.5% higher at $85,041.59.
