Energy stocks were advancing premarket Wednesday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) up 0.7%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.4% higher at $89.82 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 0.8% to $101.41 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 2.3% at $3.19 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
A BKV (BKV) subsidiary signed a contract for the supply of natural gas-fired power generation equipment that will be used at BKV's prospective power generation project in Texas, according to a statement. BKV stock was up more than 7% pre-bell.
