NET PROFIT: Seven & i's net profit is estimated to have fallen 16% to 61.3 billion yen, equivalent to $387.7 million, for the three months ended Aug. 31, according to a poll of analysts by Visible Alpha. Net profit was Y72.8 billion in the year-earlier period.

REVENUE: Second-quarter revenue is expected to have risen 2.1% to Y2.898 trillion, according to the Visible Alpha poll.

The stock has fallen 13% year to date, weighed by concerns about weak consumer spending amid the Middle East conflict and higher fuel prices.

WHAT TO WATCH:

--For the fiscal year ending February 2027, the 7-Eleven owner has projected revenue to be flat at Y10.430 trillion and net profit to fall 5.0% to Y278.00 billion. Investors will be focusing on any changes to the annual forecasts and operational impact from the Middle East conflict.

--Seven & i has pushed the planned listing of the North American business to the year starting next March at the earliest from the end of 2026. Investors will be watching for any updates on the IPO plan.

--Operating profit for its overseas convenience-store business rose more than sevenfold to Y65.59 billion as fuel margins improved sharply at its U.S. unit despite a decline in gas sales. Investors will be paying attention to any further improvements in the key money-making segment.
