DeepSeek is nearing an 80 billion yuan investment in its latest capital-raising round, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report said EV battery maker Contemporary Amperex ⁠Technology (SHE:300750) and ​Chinese conglomerate Tencent (HKG:0700) are among the largest investors in the funding round, and details of the capital raise may still change during final discussions.

The Chinese AI startup originally sought just 50 billion yuan but attracted additional funding after positive reception of its latest AI model, with the potential to raise up to 100 billion yuan based on signed term sheets, the report said.
