Kantra Copper, Havilah Resources Rename South Australia Copper Project

Kantra Copper (ASX:KAN) and farm-in partner Havilah Resources (ASX:HAV) agreed to change the name of the Mutooroo copper project in South Australia to the Coburn project following a consultation with stakeholders, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Local landholders and community stakeholders expressed a preference for the project to have a distinct identity while maintaining a connection to the local region, Kantra said.

It added that a metallurgical test program completed as part of the project's pre-feasibility study showed that mineralization is amenable to processing through the existing Kanmantoo processing plant.

The company reported copper recoveries of greater than 90% and gold recoveries exceeding 50% using the current Kanmantoo flowsheet and reagent suite, saying that the results materially reduce metallurgical risk.
