Venture Global's Basis Differential Headwinds Prompt Lower Q3 EBITDA Estimate, RBC Says

Venture Global's (VG) basis differential headwinds have prompted a lowering of the company's Q3 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization estimate, RBC Capital Markets said.

In a regulatory filing, the company reported 124 exported cargoes for Q3, which is modestly better than the midpoint of previous guidance and RBC's prior estimate of 122, the analysts said in a Thursday note.

Total weighted average liquefaction fee of $6.79 per MMBtu was in line with the analysts' estimates, but basis differential headwinds from Appalachia-sourced gas for the company's Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana have caused a revision of their Q3 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization estimate to $2.51 billion from $2.65 billion, slightly below the FactSet consensus of $2.61 billion.

The analysts said they anticipate Venture Global to report Q3 earnings in the second week of November, with the call expected to focus on the latest macro views, expectations for Q4 and 2027, and the contracting of capacity in the near and longer term, among other areas.

RBC reiterated its outperform rating and $16 price target on the company.
