Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Friday as sentiment remained resilient despite an overnight sell-off in US technology shares.
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.7%, or about 156 points, to 23,941.26. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose 0.6%, or nearly 47 points, to 8,057.42.
Wall Street ended lower overnight as concerns over OpenAI's revenue outlook weighed on technology stocks, snapping Nasdaq's streak of record closes.
Meanwhile, oil prices eased after US President Donald Trump pledged to suspend further hostilities in the Middle East until after the midterm elections, easing concerns over supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
