Pulse Biosciences (PLSE) said Wednesday it signed a partnership with the Clayman Thyroid Center at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery in Tampa, Florida, to use its Npulse Vybrance device on patients and gather new data on thyroid nodule treatment.
The center has started treating patients with the device and is the only site in the Tampa Bay area for symptomatic noncancerous thyroid nodules, the company said.
Pulse Biosciences and the center will collect real-world patient outcomes and run formal studies of the treatment's use for noncancerous thyroid nodules, the company said.
The device delivers tiny bursts of electricity while using ultrasound, aiming to remove targeted cells without damaging nearby nerves and blood vessels, and patients can go home the same day, it added.
