FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem and Faraday Future Intelligent Electric are launching a new bipedal humanoid robot aimed at software developers and education, and it will cost less than $2,500.

The companies said they will launch FF Nova, an entry-level embodied artificial-intelligence, or EAI, humanoid robot and what it terms a physical AI lab in a backpack, for $2,490 and the education ecosystem. The price tag will be $390 for a developer skills package. The companies also plan a $299 model called the FF Nova Mini, which will be paired with a $499 curriculum to introduce students and young people to EAI.

The launch of the robots is expected to come in three phases, the first of which will be by invitation only, with the second open to developers and educational institutions. The third phase will be a full consumer launch, the companies said.

The product launches accompany a corporate consolidation in which FFR signed a definitive agreement to acquire Faraday Future's robotics business in an all-stock transaction valued at about $200 million.

Under the deal, FFR would issue shares to Faraday Future at $2.246 per share, leaving the latter with a 65.7% controlling stake in FFR upon closing.

The companies say the transaction is expected to leave FFR with almost no debt, and that it is set to be backed by $10 million in fresh PIPE, or private investment in public equity, financing. They added that it would create a humanoid and bionic EAI robotics ecosystem company.
