Kimberly-Clark Gets EU Approval to Acquire Kenvue With Divestiture Conditions

Kimberly-Clark (KMB) has reecived European Commission approval to acquire Kenvue (KVUE), subject to the sale of its Kotex and other feminine hygiene brands in the European Economic Area, the Commission said Tuesday.

The deal, as initially proposed, raised competition concerns in the tampon markets in Czechia, Estonia and Slovakia, where the combined company would have removed an important competitor, the regulator said.

Kimberly-Clark agreed to divest its Kotex, Camelia and Record brands, including related intellectual property, know-how, key employees and business relationships. The Commission also approved Dilek Gida as the buyer of the divested business.

The approval is conditional on Kimberly-Clark fully meeting the commitments, with an independent trustee overseeing the implementation, the Commission said.
