Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330), d/b/a TSMC is discussing potential cooperation with Terafab, a fab project being developed by one of its customers, Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei said Thursday.
However, any facility involved must be operated by TSMC, Wei said during the company's third-quarter earnings call.
He said TSMC had sent teams to Texas to evaluate opportunities to expand capacity outside Arizona and was discussing whether it could use capacity at Terafab.
Wei said the company would share details if a firm conclusion is reached.
