GoDaddy, Partners Design Open Framework for AI Agent Identity, Payments

GoDaddy (GDDY), Alphabet's Google (GOOG, GOOGL), Cloudflare (NET) and Infoblox have designed an open framework for verifying AI agent identities and enabling secure transactions across online platforms

The Chain of Trust reference architecture, developed with Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority, uses existing internet standards to verify AI agents and maintain security throughout a transaction, GoDaddy said Wednesday in a statement.

The framework incorporates open standards for agent discovery, identity verification, authorization, communication and payments.

In a demonstration at Singapore's GovWare conference, the companies simulated an AI agent booking a flight from Madrid to Singapore across platforms hosted on different cloud services. The system verified the seller's identity and trust rating, checked the buyer's spending authorization and recorded each step in an append-only log.
