MetLife (MET) said Wednesday its MetLife Pet Insurance has added a feature that allows pet owners to use ChatGPT to link to MetLife Pet's quotes.
The feature is intended to help users with their applications and to connect to the MetLife Pet website to buy a policy.
The company claims it is the first major pet insurer to support conversational input of pet insurance applications through a ChatGPT plugin.
MetLife said its data shows that fewer than 10% of pet owners have pet insurance, while 70% said they've delayed or skipped veterinary care because of the costs.
