Growth in SGX's Securities Trading Momentum Likely Moderating
Dow Jones10-14
0233 GMT - Sequential growth in Singapore Exchange's securities trading momentum is likely moderating, says DBS Group Research's Rui Wen Lim in a report. SGX's securities daily average value fell 8% on-quarter in 1Q FY 2027 from S$2.2 billion in 4Q FY 2026, the analyst notes. Also, SGX's monthly SDAV eased to S$1.9 billion in September from S$2.2 billion in August, the analyst says. Moderation in recent months and a higher comparison base suggest that SGX's strong growth momentum seen over the past two years could be harder to sustain. DBS downgrades the stock's rating to hold from buy and cuts the target price to 20.00 Singapore dollars from S$26.40. Shares are 1.3% lower at S$20.86.
