Shares of Canada's Enerflex climbed premarket after the company was contracted to design, engineer and build over one gigawatt of low-emission behind-the-meter natural gas-fired power-generation units for a large-scale North American data-center development.
Shares in New York were up 7.6% to $25.90 in premarket trading.
The deal, combined with additional project work, boosts Enerflex's backlog of behind-the-meter natural gas-fired power generation to 1.75 gigawatts with deliveries that will run through 2028, the companys said.
To meet a backlog of orders and expected growth in core markets, the company is investing in expanding its engineeered-systems business line. It has given the go-ahead to invest about $100 million, $15 million of which has been included in its spending guidance for 2026.
