Market Chatter: Taiwan Eyes Multiple US Projects for AI Supply Chain

MT Newswires Live12:40

Taiwan plans to develop industrial parks in the U.S. to support suppliers for Nvidia and other artificial intelligence hardware makers, with an initial complex in Texas expected to cost up to $4 billion, Economics Minister Kung Ming-hsin told Bloomberg News in an interview.

Each complex is estimated to cost between $2 billion and $4 billion, with the government planning to establish more than one site in the US, Kung said. The Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association will be responsible for raising funds for the projects, while the government will help participating suppliers through loan guarantees and assistance with matters including visas and land access, according to the report.

The initiative aims to help smaller Taiwanese suppliers establish US operations and build a broader supply chain for artificial intelligence data centers, the report said.
