Takeda Pharmaceutical's (TAK) Orzeyful, or oveporexton, is now available in Japan and China for the treatment of narcolepsy type 1, the company said Thursday.

Orzeyful is an orexin receptor 2 agonist in tablet form. It is designed to treat the underlying orexin deficiency associated with the narcolepsy type 1.

The launch follows approvals from China's National Medical Products Administration, the US Food and Drug Administration and Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Takeda said.

Takeda said it expects to launch Orzeyful in the US in November following completion of scheduling by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Shares of the company were up more than 2% in pre-bell activity on Thursday.
