Aya Gold & Silver's silver mine in Morocco notched record output in the latest quarter, setting the miner up to hit its production target for the year.
The Canadian company said Wednesday its Zgounder mine produced 1.5 million ounces of silver in the third quarter, up 11% on the same period last year.
Production for the first nine months of the year increased 23% to 4.25 million ounces.
Aya's Boumadine operation, which late last year began reclaiming and selling historical pyrite stockpiles, produced a further 536,879 silver-equivalent ounces in the quarter. That included 244,875 ounces of silver and 4,300 ounces of gold.
President and Chief Executive Benoit La Salle said the company was firmly on track to achieve its 2026 production guidance.
In late March, Aya forecast production this year would hit between 6.2 million and 6.8 million silver-equivalent ounces, including 5.2 million to 5.8 million ounces of silver at Zgounder. Output in 2025 hit 5 million silver-equivalent ounces.
