Market Chatter: NBA Restricts Certain Types of Bets for New Season

The National Basketball Association has instructed sportsbook partners, including DraftKings (DKNG) and Flutter Entertainment's (FLUT) FanDuel, to stop offering certain types of bets this season, ESPN reported Friday, citing a league memo.

The restrictions include a player prop parlay used by gamblers in betting scandals, the report said. The league also prohibited bets on the opening-tip winner, players to miss specific shots and under wagers on players expected to play fewer than 12 minutes, the report added.

NBA said there is balance between removal of problematic bet types and ensuring not moving the activity into the illegal market, according to the report.

DraftKings, Flutter and the NBA did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
