JPMorganChase Deploys $5 Billion in Equity Investments Under Resiliency Initiative

MT Newswires Live10-19

JPMorganChase (JPM) said Monday it deployed $5 billion in equity investments and financed or facilitated more than $230 billion in transactions in the first year of its $1.5 trillion Security and Resiliency Initiative.

The $5 billion in equity commitments represents half of the initiative's initial $10 billion allocation and supports companies in defense technology, battery storage, automated manufacturing and other strategic sectors.

JPMorganChase expanded the initiative into Europe and Canada, with nearly one-third of related activity occurring outside the US, the company said.

The company said the program focuses on supply chains and advanced manufacturing, defense and aerospace, energy security, strategic technologies, and pharmaceuticals and health technology.

The firm will focus on strengthening industrial capacity and supply chains while addressing workforce, permitting and procurement challenges in the initiative's second year, it added.
