First Resources Sees No Material Impact From Forest Fires; Shares Up 3%

First Resources (Singapore) (SGX:EB5) expects no material operational or financial impact from recent forest and peatland fires in Indonesia's West Kalimantan province, despite some disruptions to plantation operations, according to a Friday filing with the Singapore Exchange.

The palm oil producer said many hotspots near its concessions originated outside its operating boundaries before spreading into managed areas, prompting firefighting teams to respond.

First Resources reiterated its strict zero-burning policy and highlighted its use of daily satellite monitoring, drones, and ground patrols to manage risks.

The company attributed the heightened regional fire threat to prolonged dry conditions associated with the severe 2026 El Niño event, adding that it continues to cooperate with government authorities.

First Resources' shares jumped more than 3% in recent trade.
