IMU Biosciences will work with UK Biobank to analyze 80,000 blood samples and generate large-scale data on participants' immune systems, the company said on Monday.
The company said the project will use its HD Immunology platform, Waters' (WAT) flow cytometry and multi-omic instruments, and Ultima Genomics' UG200 sequencing platform.
The study will combine immune-cell profiling, gene activity analysis and artificial intelligence to examine how differences in immune systems relate to disease risk, progression, treatment response and long-term healt, the company said.
IMU Biosciences said data generated through the project will be returned to UK Biobank over time and made available to approved researchers.
It added the study will also support its work on biomarker discovery, patient classification and AI models for immunology research.
