Shares of Quantum X Labs rose after the company experimentally validated its LayerQake quantum calibration methodology on three of International Business Machines' quantum processors.
The stock rose 8.5% to $4.21 as of midday Friday. Shares have nearly tripled in value this year.
The company said that by using the LayerQake methodology, it reduced measurement bias from hardware-induced noise to less than 6%, from around 11% to 15% previosly. The approach also demonstrated a 15- to 21-fold reduction in maximum cumulative error.
Quantum X Labs said the finding demonstrates the potential of LayerQake to improve the reliability of quantum computing systems.
"The Company believes the experiment demonstrated substantial improvements in computational accuracy and reductions in cumulative errors caused by quantum hardware noise," the company said.
