Collegium Pharmaceutical Settles Nucynta Patent Litigation for $17 Million

MT Newswires Live10-20

Collegium Pharmaceutical (COLL) has settled its patent litigation with Grunenthal GmbH over its Nucynta extended-release product, agreeing to pay $17 million and terminate its US licensing agreement, according to a regulatory filing Monday.

Under the settlement, effective Oct. 15, Collegium will no longer owe royalties under the license agreement. Grunenthal also assigned certain patents related to the Nucynta products to Collegium and filed a motion to dismiss the litigation, the filing said.

The dispute stemmed from a patent infringement complaint Grunenthal filed in Feb. 2026 related to Collegium's launch of an authorized generic version of Nucynta ER, according to the filing.
