E-Commerce Stocks Facing Pressure From Agentic Developments, BofA Says

MT Newswires Live10-21

E-Commerce stocks are facing pressure from agentic commerce developments, but some firms, including Wayfair (W) and Etsy, are deepening large language model integrations, BofA Securities analysts said in a Wednesday note.

Carvana (CVNA), eBay (EBAY), and Etsy (ETSY) are scheduled to report financial results on Oct. 28, while Wayfair is expected on Nov. 4.

"The convergence of eCommerce & Agentic Commerce is accelerating, but still remains in nascent stages, with the battle for control of the customer still in its early innings," analysts said.

For Etsy, BofA said some acceleration potential may already be priced into shares, but noted that reduction-in-force savings are not fully baked in. It reiterated a buy rating and a $105 price target.

Analysts also said they are cautious on Carvana despite expectations for continued strong unit growth.

BofA retained eBay's neutral rating but increased its price target to $129 from $123. It maintained a buy rating on Wayfair.
