Looking back on stock picks forces accountability and shows which ideas actually held up. Markets change and only an honest review separates durable analysis from luck or bad timing. This can improve future recommendations and give readers an account of whether the pick lived up to the promise.
In this update, we revisit the following former stock picks and examine how they performed:
Marriott International, reviewed by Teresa Rivas in August.
Logitech International, introduced by Dan Victor in July.
Harmony Biosciences, covered by Todd Chanko in March.
This note revisits former stock picks from a technical perspective, focusing on those that present buying opportunities. Read the last edition here.
Marriott International
The hotel stock is up 28% year to date and 48% over the past year. It is on a five week winning streak and up another 2.5% this week following the prior week's 6% advance, its best gain in more than six months. The stock is up 10% since our recommendation.
Looking at the daily chart, the ratio chart against peer Hilton Worldwide highlights an emerging cup-with-handle base following a sustained uptrend from October through August. On absolute price terms, its earlier advance featured a 5.3% bullish island reversal gap-up on April 8, ultimately topping at the very round $400 number and recording a bearish shooting star June 15.
That topping signal initiated a double-bottom base, with its trough anchored by a bullish hammer on Sept. 9 as shares rebounded dramatically, closing more than $10 off intraday lows. Momentum accelerated Oct. 14 as the stock staged a high-conviction breakout above the $384.33 double-bottom trigger on above-average daily volume.
Marriott could reach $480 by mid 2027, a 21% gain from current prices. Remain bullish above $380. The stock was trading around $404 Wednesday.
Logitech International
The computer accessories company has gained 9% year to date but is unchanged over the past 12 months and pays a dividend yield of 1.5%. It trades 16% below its 52-week high, but rose 6% last week and is up another 5% this week headed into Wednesday. Logitech has gained 12% since our recommendation.
Looking at the daily chart, the ratio chart against the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund is currently testing the upper resistance boundary of a bearish descending triangle. A break above this level could spark a powerful rally. Shares previously registered a breakout above a deep cup-base pivot at $123.11 on June 1, gaining 4%. But the move failed to hold after just one session, a red flag. The following day produced a bearish counterattack candle, followed immediately by a 5% gap-down on June 5 that completed a bearish island reversal.
That rejection launched a multi-month symmetrical triangle, which eventually found a firm bottom with a bullish hammer at the very round $90 mark on June 30. Higher lows within the pattern were established by a bullish harami on Aug. 21 and a morning star pattern completed Oct. 13, which surged 5% to reclaim both the 50- and 200-day simple moving averages.
Momentum solidified Oct. 19 as shares decisively cleared the $105 pivot. This stock could reach $130 by mid 2027, a 19% gain from current prices. Remain bullish above $103. Logitech International was trading around $109 Wednesday.
Harmony Biosciences
The biotech player in the neurological disease space is up 48% over the past year, but has slipped 8% over the past month, offering an opportunity. Shares have backed off near the round $40 number for the fifth time since September 2024, but they are keeping close proximity to the level this time around. The stock is up 36% since our recommendation.
Looking at the daily chart, the ratio chart against the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF has begun to firm over the past two months. Absolute price action is currently retesting its former breakout zone above a $38.99 cup-with-handle pivot, which the stock initially took out on Aug. 4 with a 9% surge. That multi-month base originated on Dec. 15, following a bearish engulfing candle at the familiar $40 number, before establishing a firm low on Feb. 23 that filled a prior downside gap from Oct. 22, 2025.
Price action recently completed another key gap-fill on Oct. 13, resolving a window left open from Aug. 3, the session immediately preceding its latest earnings announcement. This pullback and recovery has constructed a valid double-bottom base with a $40.67 trigger. This stock could reach $53 by mid 2027, a 36% gain from current prices. Remain bullish above $36. Harmony Biosciences was trading around $38.50 Wednesday.
