Investors who held Nanosonics over the past year are down 32.0%, including dividends. With revenue and profit now reported lower and net margin slipping from 10.4% to 8.1%, which original assumption or recorded risk would you interrogate first? Narratives are how investors here put a case on the record, with explicit assumptions about revenue, margins and the multiple. Those assumptions imply an estimated Fair Value. The easy part of this move is behind Nanosonics. Zero in on 5 high quality undervalued stocks for companies trading below our estimates. AdvertisementThe Two Stories Investors Had To Weigh On Nanosonics The shares cost A$4.45 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Nanosonics then had to decide which story felt more plausible. On the bullish side, the optimistic Narrative put Fair Value at A$6, or 35% above the start price. This view hinged on global aging, tighter infection control rules and a view that recurring revenue and margins could grow well beyond consensus. The bearish view set Fair Value at A$3.75, or 16% below the start price. This view stressed hospital cost containment, product concentration in trophon and the risk that new disinfection technologies could erode pricing power and profitability. ASX:NAN 1-Year Stock Price Chart What The Results Changed For The Nanosonics Debate The clearest piece of evidence was Nanosonics reporting revenue of A$101.662m in H2 2026 compared with A$105.033m in H2 2025, and net income slipping from A$10.916m to A$8.192m. Net margin moved from 10.4% to 8.1%. That combination challenged the bullish margin expansion story and gave more weight to the cautious case on profitability. The lesson is simple. When a thesis leans on rising profitability, keep a close eye on net margin in each result, rather than focusing only on top line trends or product launches. What Today's Nanosonics Price Already Assumes Nanosonics trades at A$3.04 today, well below where the Narrative places its Fair Value. That Narrative treats the recent share price fall as a reset on expectations, not a verdict on the business model. The argument leans on converting the trophon footprint and CORIS launch into steadier recurring earnings. A buyer today would be assuming CORIS achieves broad commercial adoption while trophon keeps funding that expansion. \"Bullish analysts expect Nanosonics to convert its trophon installed base and the commercial launch of CORIS into higher recurring annuity revenue and EBIT over time, while keeping operating expenses growing more slowly than revenue. The main thing that has to go right is that CORIS moves from controlled market release to successful multi region commercial adoption, while the trophon franchise continues to support cash generation and share buybacks without adding debt.\" One Narrative has put a figure on that disagreement. → See the Narrative with its higher Fair Value, assumptions and all Looking Beyond Nanosonics Nanosonics sits inside a healthcare system that keeps getting more complex. Your risk is rarely about one device in isolation. Hospitals that buy infection control equipment still wrestle with rising treatment usage and billing pressure. They need help keeping care costs predictable and claims flowing smoothly. One large healthcare group focuses on that plumbing. It blends insurance, data services and pharmacy management to keep payments, pricing and care delivery aligned. When those functions run tightly together, cash generation and capital decisions can look very different from a pure equipment producer like Nanosonics. If that model keeps absorbing more activity, your idea of healthcare exposure might need a complete rethink. One Narrative has already put a figure on it. → Uncover the company trading 32% below one Narrative's Fair Value This article by Simply Wall St is general in nature.
