A US federal judge expressed reluctance to intervene in licensing negotiations between QUALCOMM (QCOM) and Arm Holdings (ARM) over next-generation chip technology, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing closing arguments in an antitrust case in Delaware.
Judge Maryellen Noreika called Qualcomm's request to force Arm to negotiate licensing deals in good faith "very, very drastic." She plans to issue a written decision on Qualcomm's antitrust claim after both sides submit final arguments later this month, Bloomberg reported.
Qualcomm alleges Arm delayed negotiations over licensing fees for its next-generation v10 technology, which is expected to underpin chips through 2040, according to the report.
