Rowe Price U.S. Equity Research ETF","SMZ":"Tradr 2X Short SMR Daily ETF"},"translate_title":"三所地方大学会计专业毕业生可享受估价师资格模块豁免","themeId":null,"isJumpTheme":false,"ttsUrl":null,"symbols_score_info":{"SMRX":0.6,"SMU":1,"TACU":0.9,"SMZ":0.6,"SMUP":0.6,"CDIG":0.9,"CVA":1,"TSPA":0.9},"content_text":"IVAS will continue working with universities to assess opportunities for further curriculum alignment and module exemptionsThe Institute of Valuers and Appraisers Singapore (IVAS) has announced new collaborations to advance business valuation through new university pathways for aspiring valuation professionals, as part of a broader recognition of roles played by valuers in the changing business landscape.\nBesides a refreshed Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA) Programme curriculum, IVAS, which is under the umbrella of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, renewed its longstanding partnership with the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC).\nTo broaden access to the CVA Programme, IVAS has granted module exemptions to three autonomous universities - Singapore Management University (SMU), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). \nThese exemptions recognise the alignment of selected subjects in the universities' Bachelor of Accountancy programmes with the relevant CVA Programme requirements.\nEligible graduates from the three universities will be exempted from one CVA Programme module, thereby reducing time and cost to attain the CVA qualification. \nAs the subjects that qualify graduates for the exemption form part of the universities' Bachelor of Accountancy programmes, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 400 graduating students each year. \nIVAS will continue working with universities to assess opportunities for further curriculum alignment and module exemptions, with the aim of creating more accessible pathways for graduates to attain the CVA qualification.\nAlso, to recognise that intangible assets such as intellectual property, brands and know-how now form the bulk of how many businesses are valued, the CVA Programme curriculum was refreshed for the January 2026 intake to include enhanced content on the valuation of intangible assets.\nIVAS says the curriculum will undergo a further review in 2027 in preparation for new International Valuation Standards (IVS), which are expected to take effect in January 2028. \nRegular reviews of the CVA Programme will be made to ensure that it remains benchmarked against IVS and responsive to market developments. \nAccording to IVAS, more than 150 professionals from Singapore and the region have enrolled in the refreshed CVA Programme since its launch in January 2026.\nThese new initiatives were announced at the IVAS-IVSC Business Valuation Conference 2026, held on Oct 23, drawing more than 800 participants from Singapore and the region, spanning the valuation, investment, and professional services communities.\nThemed 'Navigating New Realities in Corporate Markets\", this year's conference marks the first time that IVAS and IVSC have collaborated with CFA Society Singapore, to create a platform for professionals from the business valuation and investment management communities to exchange insights and strengthen professional networks.\n\"Intangible assets today account for an ever-growing share of corporate value, and the decisions that businesses and investors make increasingly depend on rigorous, credible valuation,\" says Lie Kok Keong, IVAS Council Chairperson.\n\"The new university pathways, refreshed CVA Programme and renewed partnership with IVSC reflects IVAS' commitment to ensuring the valuation profession keeps pace with these developments, remains globally connected and is accessible to the next generation of practitioners,\" he adds.\nCindy Tan Hwee Leng, President of CFA Society Singapore, says that as markets grow more complex and intangible assets take centre stage, the valuation and investment professions are becoming increasingly interconnected. \n\"This collaboration between CFA Society Singapore, IVAS and IVSC creates a timely and valuable platform for practitioners from both communities to exchange insights, tackle emerging challenges together and build a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape,\" she adds.\nSpeaking at the conference, Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office says that while intangible assets often often drive a company's future growth, they are also more difficult to identify, measure, and compare.\n\"How well we understand these sources of value affects whether promising businesses can access financing, and whether investors can tell durable value apart from short-term expectations. Ultimately, credible valuation shapes capital flows towards productive and innovative businesses with strong fundamentals and long-term growth potential,\" says Indranee, who is also Second Minister for Finance and National Development.\nShe observes that in an increasingly difficult operating environment, marked by changes in supply chains and shifts in the cost of capital, valuation has become harder tasks.\n\"But it also makes reliable valuation even more important. Investors and businesses need assessments of value that are well-grounded in valuation and can withstand scrutiny. This is where valuers and investors can gain most from each other,\" says Indranee.\n\"Valuers bring rigour to the assessment of value. They examine the fundamentals and the assumptions that underpin it. Investors bring a market perspective. They consider those fundamentals alongside risk, opportunity and alternative uses of capital.
