JGB Yield Curve Flattens Amid Continued AI-Related Credit Concerns

Dow Jones08:51

0051 GMT - The JGB yield curve flattens in the early Tokyo session amid continued artificial-intelligence-related credit concerns. Such concerns and "expectations for an exit from reflationary policy are improving supply/demand conditions for long-tern bonds globally," Nomura's Naka Matsuzawa says in a research report. This is driving flattening along the yield curve, the strategist says. However, "supply/demand improvement alone has limits," Matsuzawa says. "Steady BOJ rate hikes and yen appreciation are needed," the strategist adds. The 10-year JGB yield is down 1 bp at 2.880%, while the 30-year yield is down 3 bps at 3.895%.
