Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's campaign will seek to disqualify rival Flavio Bolsonaro over alleged election interference by Meta Platforms (META), AFP reported Tuesday, citing a campaign source.
The petition alleges algorithmic manipulation intended to hurt Lula's reelection chances.
Brazil's Superior Electoral Court gave Meta 24 hours on Monday to demonstrate compliance with an order requiring equal treatment of both campaigns, threatening a daily fine of about $200,000.
Meta said Tuesday it had implemented measures to comply with the order, AFP reported.
Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
