Starbucks China will introduce its no-purchase-no-seat policy effective Thursday, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing the coffee giant.
The move comes as Starbucks introduced its "Third Space Initiative" that will allow customers to stay and enjoy their purchases comfortably, it said in a Wednesday press release.
Starbucks will also commit 300 million yuan to upgrade its customer service and in-store experiences for the fiscal year 2027, the coffee giant said. It has committed to remaking drinks for free if a customer is unsatisfied, among other measures. Starbucks will expand staffing during peak hours at half of its stores, the coffee giant said.
Starbucks and Boyu did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newsires.
