Asia-Pacific Office Demand Could be Resilient Though AI Disrupts Jobs

Dow Jones08:43

0043 GMT - Demand for office space in the Asia-Pacific is likely to remain resilient, even with the potential for artificial intelligence to displace certain jobs, says CBRE in a report. It projects occupied office space to grow 13% between 2026-2030 in a moderate AI-displacement scenario, only modestly below the 18% growth estimated in CBRE's base-case scenario. Occupiers in Hong Kong are likely to place greater emphasis on office quality as AI becomes more embedded into business operations, says CBRE Hong Kong's Ada Fung. "We expect demand to gravitate towards premium buildings that offer modern specifications, strong sustainability credentials and amenities that support productivity and talent attraction," she adds.
