Archer Aviation (ACHR) said Friday that it will launch three air taxi networks in the Texas cities of Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston.
The company said it chose the cities because the area between the three has a population of more than 20 million and are among the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the US.
Archer said its planned air taxi network in Houston will connect the city's major airports to its business centers and coastal areas, while the Austin network looks to connect Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the helipad at the Circuit of the Americas, where the annual F1 United States Grand Prix is held.
Shares of Archer Aviation were down 1.6% pre-bell.
