NetEase's Gaming Performance Likely to Stay Muted in 4Q
Dow Jones10-22
0336 GMT - NetEase's gaming performance will likely remain muted in 4Q, Nomura analysts say in a research note. They expect the Chinese videogame maker's 3Q revenue to have risen 4% on year, reflecting a soft online gaming and value-added service segment. Nomura attributes the likely muted gaming performance to a high comparison base for the PC version of "Fantasy Westward Journey" and the lackluster performance of "Sea of Remnants," which was launched in July. The weakness could persist in 4Q ahead of the launch of its highly anticipated new title "Ananta" in January. Nomura maintains a buy call on NetEase but lowers its ADR target price to $155.00 from $157.00. Shares last ended 1.7% lower at $122.98.
