It is anticipating 2.5% sales growth from volume, and 2.3% from pricing. In the year prior, it booked 4.0% growth in underlying sales for the third quarter.

TURNOVER: Turnover is anticipated at 13.09 billion euros ($14.63 billion), according to analysts' estimates.

Unilever's shares have risen around 1% this year so far.

WHAT TO WATCH

-- Volumes: Whether Unilever's volumes can hold up while increasing pricing is yet to be seen, Barclays's Warren Ackerman said in a note. Strong pricing and good volumes would indicate that Unilever's second-quarter strength was not mainly boosted by temporary factors such as the World Cup, he said. Home care should be a strong performer, he added.

-- Food Concerns: Unilever's challenges are a bit concerning, and the company's food exit plans are complex, Jefferies' David Hayes said. According to Barclays's Ackerman, Foods is likely to be a drag, as industry data and peer commentary suggest pressure in U.S. condiments and European meal products like Knorr. The U.S. and Europe Foods are expected to drag results in the third quarter, he added.
