Treasury Yields Rise Slightly Ahead of Expected Fed Hold

Dow Jones03:35

1535 ET - Treasury yields tick higher around Monday's levels as data indicate U.S. business and consumers remain resilient in the face of high borrowing costs. Durable goods orders expand more than expected in September, while consumer confidence rises above forecast in October. A five-year Treasury auction clears at a lower yield than a month ago and a $6 billion long-term bonds buyback operation goes as planned. The Fed is expected to hold rates unchanged tomorrow. The 10-year rises 0.004 percentage point to 4.992% and the two-year adds 0.026 percentage point to 4.735%. Both are up for three consecutive days.
