ASP Isotopes shares were higher after the company said that Tetra4 Proprietary, a subsidiary of Renergen, has completed commissioning and achieved stable production of liquid helium.

The stock was 4% higher, at $2.03, in morning trade, but is down 79% in the past 12 months.

The advanced materials company said liquid helium is now accumulating in Tetra4's cryogenic storage ahead of initial deliveries under existing offtake agreements. The company said the Virginia Gas Project holds South Africa's first onshore petroleum production right and is the country's first integrated producer of both liquid helium and liquefied natural gas.

ASP Isotopes expects Phase 1 to produce 2,500 gigajoule per day of LNG and 70 thousand cubic feet per day of liquid helium.
