Sarepta Therapeutics' (SRPT) PD biomarker data from the multiple ascending dose portion of the phase 1/2 studies in facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, or FSHD, and myotonic dystrophy type 1, or DM1, are expected to draw investor focus, Wedbush Securities said in a Monday note.
The investment firm said a confirmation of robust and sustained suppression of target genes, after successful dose escalation with good safety, should be a positive outcome.
Any trend of separation from placebo in preserving muscle function would be encouraging evidence for potential treatment benefit, Wedbush said.
The company's pipeline programs are likely to become an increasingly important driver for long-term growth, the firm said, noting that Sarepta intends to launch phase 3 studies in both FSHD and DM1 in 2027.
Wedbush Securities has an outperform rating and $35 price target on the stock.
