Turaco Gold (ASX:TCG) confirmed high-grade extensions and further shallow, sub-parallel mineralized zones from drilling at the Begnopan and Asupiri-Adiopan deposits within the Afema project in the Ivory Coast, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Drilling at Asupiri-Adiopan returned 6 meters at 19 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 66 meters, including 2 meters at 52 g/t grade of gold from 67 meters, and 8 meters at 7.83 g/t grade of gold from 12 meters, including 2 meters at 31 g/t grade of gold from 18 meters, the filing said.

Meanwhile, drilling at Begnopan returned 23 meters at 3.27 g/t grade of gold from 109 meters, and 8 meters at 5.56 g/t grade of gold from 82 meters.

The results support the potential to grow the project's current mineral resource estimate ahead of an update slated for completion this quarter, per the filing.

Shares rose nearly 6% in morning trade Monday.
