Standard Chartered Estimates Set to Rise After Strong Earnings

Dow Jones10-28 18:52

1052 GMT - Standard Chartered's third-quarter earnings should lead to consensus EPS upgrades as the bank reports robust growth, J.P. Morgan analysts write. The London-based lender reports revenue and pretax profit ahead of consensus estimates, JPM says, with broad-based strength across the business leading to a "strong beat." Net interest income was underpinned by volume growth, the analysts add. JPM expects low-single-digit percentage consensus EPS upgrades after the results, driven by lower impairments. Shares are up 3.8% in London.
