Super Micro Computer-backed (SMCI) Argentum AI's founder and CEO Andrew Sobko confirmed that the cloud computing company has lined up $5 billion in debt financing from a global private credit firm to buy artificial intelligence chips.

In a emailed response to MT Newswires, Sobko said the financing will "support offtakers, including non-investment-grade ones."

Argentum AI has $12 billion in contracted TCV, or total contract value, and 1.4 gigawatts of capacity coming online through 2026 and early 2027, Sobko said.

Argentum AI's $5 billion financing was first reported by Reuters on Tuesday.

Super Micro Computer did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
