Sasol (SSL) business unit, Sasol International Chemicals, reported the start of "beneficial operation" at its previously idled ISOSIV paraffin production unit in Augusta, Italy, after lifting force majeure on certain products.

The ISOSIV unit produces normal paraffin, a feedstock used to produce household cleaning products and laundry detergents, the company said Friday. Normal paraffin is a critical feedstock for manufacturing DETAL Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB) and Linear Alkyl Sulfonate (LAS). The force majeure was on DETAL LAB, LAS, and downstream derivatives based on DETAL LAB

Sasol International Chemicals declared force majeure in April amid geopolitical tensions affecting its Italy and Germany sites, it said.
