Align Technology named a former Procter & Gamble executive its next chief executive officer whose experience in helming oral- and personal-health brands is expected to help the company grow its business.
The appointment came as the medical device company reported higher third-quarter profit and revenue.
Jennifer Davis is set to join Align as CEO-elect and board member on Nov. 2, before assuming the roles of president and CEO on Dec. 31.
Davis succeeds Joseph Hogan, who has been president and CEO since 2015. Hogan will retire as a member of the board following its strategy meeting in June, the company said.
Davis was most recently CEO of P&G's global healthcare business, where she was responsible for strategy, annual performance, portfolio innovation, operations and customer development across a portfolio that included oral-health and personal-health brands.
Align said Davis's experience will benefit the company as it looks to extend its Invisalign brand and expand its role in digital oral health.
Separately on Wednesday, Align posted a profit of $135 million, or $1.90 a share, compared with $56.8 million, or 78 cents a share, a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings per share were $2.80, compared with analyst estimates of $2.77, according to FactSet.
Revenue rose 1.9% to $1.01 billion, compared with analyst estimates of $1 billion.
The company said it completed its $200 million open market share repurchase plan, disclosed in April, earlier this month.
As of Sept. 30, the company had $630 million available under its $1 billion stock repurchase program announced in 2025. During the fourth quarter, it expects to repurchase up to $300 million of its common stock.
