Bursa Malaysia Likely Weighed by Foreign Selling, Weak Sentiment
Dow Jones14:56
0656 GMT - Persistent foreign selling pressure and subdued investor sentiment could continue to weigh on Bursa Malaysia's valuation, despite underlying fundamentals remaining relatively resilient, TA Securities analyst Li Hsia Wong says in a note. Growth drivers include a healthy 2027 IPO pipeline, potential cross-border listings and new products such as digital currency ETFs. However, higher staff and technology costs could pressure earnings, while trading activity may ease if market volatility subsides, she reckons. TA Securities cuts Bursa's target price to 8.90 ringgit from 9.55 ringgit, while maintaining a buy rating on the stock. Shares are 0.5% higher at 8.04 ringgit.
