French, Italian, Belgian Bond Yields Rise; German Yields Fall
Dow Jones15:59
0759 GMT - The government bond yields of fiscally weak eurozone countries, France, Belgium and Italy, rise while others fall in early trade Friday. Core bond yields, such as German and Dutch yields, are lower in line with declining U.S. Treasury yields which hit multiweek lows in Asian trade. Friday sees a flurry of key economic data, including on growth and inflation, while earlier data showed France's economy contracted in the third quarter of the year. This deepens concerns over the government's debt load amid enduring political paralysis. The 10-year French OAT yield rises 4.4 basis points to 4.949%, while the 10-year German Bund yield is down 0.5 basis points at 3.347%, according to Tradeweb.
