1332 GMT - Novo Nordisk's financial results are highly positive overall, with an underlying performance that is clearly better than expected and an upward revision to guidance that exceeds expectations, Sydbank's senior analyst Soren Lontoft Hansen writes. "Novo delivered positive growth rates in the third quarter, sending a very encouraging signal to investors regarding the trade-off between lower prices and increased volume." Sydbank notes the better-than-expected performance of Novo's GLP-1 business, covering both obesity and diabetes treatments. Wegovy pill sales of 5.4 billion Danish kroner came in 17% above expectations, driven by the U.S. and a "very encouraging" initial launch outside the U.S., according to the analyst. This partially offsets a modest decline for the injectable version of Wegovy, reflecting a drop in the U.S. due to increased competition and price pressure. Shares are up 5.3%.
