Midterm Election Results Won't Change Much for the Fed

0957 ET - The midterm election results won't meaningfully impact the Federal Reserve's outlook, says Diego Barnuevo Market Analyst at Ebury. Rate expectations will continue to be driven mainly by energy prices, the Iran war, and also elevated AI spending which doesn't seem likely to slow down within the next couple of years, he says. Additionally, Barnuevo says markets are pricing in more tightening than is likely to happen. The continued surging Treasury yields will probably avoid the need for further hikes following the December meeting.
