TotalEnergies has signed agreements with PETRONAS Carigali, PTTEP (SET:PTTEP) and KUFPEC, to acquire a 30% stake in the Lang Lebah and B14 gas fields in Sarawak, Malaysia, according to a Monday press release.
The integrated energy company says the two fields will be developed as a single project, with the aim to unlock more than 6.5 trillion cubic feet of gas resources.
The gas will supply the existing Malaysia LNG liquefaction plant, with a production plateau of around 10 billion cubic meters a year.
Following completion, TotalEnergies will have a 30% stake in both fields, with PTTEP, KUFPEC and PETRONAS Carigali with 25%, 25% and 20% stakes respectively.
