Palantir Technologies to Benefit From Sovereign AI Growth, Morgan Stanley Says

Palantir Technologies' (PLTR) Q4 guidance suggests business momentum is likely to continue, but a muted stock reaction despite robust Q3 results reflects higher-than-expected investor expectations for US commercial growth and a slowdown in bookings metrics, Morgan Stanley said in a Tuesday research report.

Management cited tough sequential comparisons and shorter contract durations on initial sovereign AI deals as headwinds to bookings growth in Q3, according to the note.

For fiscal 2027, the brokerage now expects EPS of $2.79 on revenue of $14.08 billion, compared with its previous estimates of $2.31 and $11.83 billion, respectively. For 2028, it expects EPS of $4.31 on revenue of $21.14 billion, up from previous estimates of $3.27 and $16.56 billion, respectively.

The company is entering a new growth phase driven by the sovereign AI movement, and its ability to address the enterprise context problem and enable model choice with Evolve positions it as a beneficiary of these trends, the note added.

Morgan Stanley raised its price target on Palantir to $233 from $205, maintaining an equalweight rating.

The company's shares were down 5% in early Tuesday trading.
